About Us
Who Are We?
The ClaytonArts Academy was founded in 1998 at Clayton Valley High School in Concord, California. Our educational approach is project-based and cross-curricular in English and social studies, evidenced by our twice annual All-Academy Projects, our yearly core projects, and our spring semester individual Academy Plus public service projects. We integrate the creative and performing arts into every Academy school day, which makes up roughly half of our students' high school experience (science, math, foreign language, P.E., etc., are taken with the rest of the CVHS student population). ClaytonArts Academy students spend four years together with six teachers and 132 Academy students; because this allows for deeper connections, many of our students feel that the ClaytonArts Academy is their second family. We strive to provide a powerful high school experience designed to challenge all of our students both academically and artistically and prepare them for life beyond high school in a university setting or workplace environment.
